Academic Writing

Generally referencing the type of writing students are expected to be able to perform in college (as opposed to Technical or Workplace Writing), Academic Writing is not a single mode or form of writing used in all disciplines.  However, there are some distinctions made from the traditional 3 by 5 essay often used in high school.  To read the Dartmouth Writing Programs explanation, see Academic Writing, Dartmouth College.
